Industry Relevance

BIO-Europe, founded in 1995, is a highly influential international trade fair that drives business development between pharmaceutical, financial and biotechnology companies. What sets BIO-Europe apart is its unique format. Each year editions of the fair are held at different European cities to a diverse audience, providing a dynamic platform for industry leaders to foster partnerships. As Europe’s largest partnering conference and exhibition for the global biotech industry, BIO-Europe plays a vital role in shaping the future of this sector.

The annual event is responsible for gathering leading decision makers from emerging biotech, pharmaceutical and financial companies. The result – a rich ecosystem for collaboration and the pushing of innovation. The trade fair serves as a catalyst for business deals and offers a range of benefits beyond financial investment. Investors and pharmaceutical companies provide valuable insights on regulatory requirements, permits, marketing strategies and patient advocacy. At the exhibition floor, you’ll discover a carefully curated product offering, providing participants with the opportunity to explore the latest advancements and solutions in the field.

The agenda at BIO-Europe features high-quality debates and discussions on cutting-edge topics that shape the future of the life sciences industry. From pharmaceutical advancements and artificial intelligence to preventative medicine and big data, the event sheds light on crucial industry trends and fosters knowledge exchange among experts. Attendees can expect engaging sessions on topics such as computer-assisted surgery, training methods, and the development of medicinal products.

There’s a lot of flexibility afforded to potential participants. There are three distinct ways to take part in BIO-Europe. If you want better, continuous visibility as a company during the trade fair, then you can sign up to be either an exhibitor or a sponsor. Another way to still drive attention to your brand and products to the audience is to present your company during one of the supporting items during the trade fair. Finally, there’s an opportunity to attend as a delegate and take advantage of the myriad of networking opportunities.

Who Are You Going to Meet?

With its global reach and focus on collaboration, BIO-Europe serves as a catalyst for innovation, investment, and knowledge-sharing in the biotech industry. It’s why organisers put a lot of effort into giving newcomers opportunities to steal the spotlight. You see a lot of young companies (3 years old at minimum, 10 or fewer employees, pre-revenue) and start-ups in attendance. Start-ups are eager participants to get their big break as part of the Startup Spotlight, which introduces start-ups to investors, pharma dealmakers, and biotech business key opinion leaders. After a 4-minute pitch comes a live feedback session with a jury of leading who will evaluate the pitches and select the winner onsite.

Of course, we can’t understate the overall quality of participating companies – Bayer & Bayer, Lonza, Pfizer, Almirall, Novo Nordisk, Charles River Labs, Sanofi, ProBioGen, DiNAQOR, Johnson & Johnson, OPIS, BioConnection and Gedeon Richter.

The event attracts high-level delegates from around the world, creating a vibrant atmosphere where crucial trends and advancements are discussed, partnerships are formed, and the future of the life sciences sector is shaped. Whether you're a biotech entrepreneur, investor, researcher or industry professional, attending BIO-Europe is a must to stay at the forefront of the field.

Additional Value of Attending

Let’s investigate the presentation options for companies during BIO-Europe. One option is an in-person company presentation, which provides companies with a dedicated time slot to deliver their presentation during BIO-Europe. This allows them to engage with attendees directly and convey their message in a live setting. Additionally, companies opting for this presentation format have the advantage of having their pre-recorded presentation added to their partnering profile three weeks before the event. This enables registered attendees to view the presentation on-demand, further expanding the reach of the company's message.

Another option is a digital presentation, which focuses on pre-recorded content. Companies that choose this option have their pre-recorded presentation added to their partnering profile before the event. Registered attendees can then access and view the presentation on-demand. Additionally, the company's one-minute pre-recorded elevator pitch is streamed onsite during BIO-Europe, providing a concise overview of their offering.

The presentations are then further categorised into four tracks, each catering to specific types of companies and their objectives:

  • The Biotech Companies track is designed for biotech companies seeking partnerships, strategic alliances, and access to the global financing network.
  • The Midsize Pharma Companies track acknowledges the increased demand for presentations from midsize pharmaceutical companies.
  • For early-stage projects and small entrepreneurial companies, the Next Generation Biotech Companies track provides a direct platform to present their innovative assets or ideas to potential partners.
  • Lastly, the Academic Innovators track is dedicated to academic researchers and technology transfer offices.
