Industry Relevance

Farnborough International Airshow is one of the longest running air shows in the history of the world as the very first edition in 1948 and currently ranks second in size after the PARIS AIRSHOW. The air show takes place in Farnborough Airfield and produces an incredible program every two years, which is enjoyed by both aerospace professionals and all aviation enthusiasts in equal measure. A big reason for the airshow’s appeal with the public is the aerial displays that grace the skies above the airfield. Famously, the RAF’s Black Arrows pulled off the record for a 22-plane formation loop in 1958.

The product line-up today covers the full spectrum of equipment, technology, and aircraft. Visitors have access to the entire spectrum from civilian to military aviation – rotary, aircraft interior, aerospace 4.0, air cargo, manufacturing technologies, UAS and MRO! In 2022, the Farnborough International Airshow has organised itself around 6 primary themes that target every vital product group within aviation. These are Space, Defence, Sustainability, Innovation, Future Flight and Workforce. The themed zones are also a good way to pull in qualified trade visitors to the booths most relevant to their needs. Exhibitors take the time to work on their solutions and equipment so that new releases happen right at FIA.

Who Are You Going to Meet?

The great thing about Farnborough International Airshow is that it commands the attention of everyone who is anyone in the aerospace sector. After all, over 80 out of 100 of the top companies in the industry have showcased in the past, and that’s saying something. Since the manufacturing elite is present, it’s not surprising to discover that the biggest buyers and decision makers are also present. Meet the Buyer program allows you to make connections fast and generate sales leads with ministers of defence, organisations, corporations, and suppliers.

Additional Value of Attending

FIA continues to evolve and meet the aerospace industry where it currently is. As a result, for 2022 FIA will debut the Aerospace Global Forum. This conference unites leaders from sustainability, future workforce, space and air travel in order to confront the current challenges facing the industry as a whole. We’re talking climate change, political change, air space security. Plus, how quantum computing systems, electric flight and AI continuously change the technological landscape.

The forum compliments the already stellar support programme in the face of the FINN Sessions, which consist of keynote speeches, talks, panel discussions and seminars on a broad range of subjects. If you’re unable to attend in person, but still want to experience some content, then be sure to see the FINN Live event, which streams a lot of video interviews, analysis, and opinions from aerospace industry leaders.

Innovation has been firmly baked into the DNA of the Farnborough International Airshow and this is best exemplified in the presence of the Space Zone and the Research & Development Zone – two leading features for the airshow. After all, space exploration has been on the minds of every specialist and engineer in recent years, so be sure to meet with the global space community in an expanded area. The second area concerns itself with cutting-edge technologies and research. This is the place where advanced engineering universities, Research, and Technology Organisations and supportive agencies meet, exchange knowledge and highlight important research done today.

FIA also facilitates business on the highest level thanks to its Business Connections Exchange, which is an improved, updated version of Meet the Buyer. The initiative positions exhibitors to meet with qualified decision makers in key sectors. Take part in meetings face to face to establish new contacts.
