Additional Value of Attending

Recognizing excellence and innovation in the agricultural and forestry sectors, the Great Yorkshire Show presents two prestigious awards that celebrate outstanding contributions to these fields. Let's explore these accolades. The John Boddy Award, jointly organised and judged by the Royal Forestry Society, Forestry Commission and Yorkshire Agricultural Society, honours excellence in forestry design and practice.

For 2023, the award seeks to recognize the best new community woodland planted in Yorkshire over the past 15 years. The judging panel is particularly interested in woodland schemes that cover an area larger than 0.5 hectares. In order to have a chance at winning, these schemes should have made a tangible and positive impact on local communities. Applications are open to individuals and organisations alike.

In addition to the John Boddy Award, the Great Yorkshire Show also presents the GYS Innovation Awards. These awards aim to encourage exhibitors in the machinery and agricultural sectors to push themselves and create new forward-thinking technologies and solutions. The Innovation Award recognizes groundbreaking products that significantly contribute to the farming industry.

By promoting advancements and novel approaches in agricultural machinery and farming practices, the award highlights the transformative impact of innovation on the sector. Trade stand exhibitors at the Great Yorkshire Show have the opportunity to apply for this esteemed accolade, showcasing their cutting-edge products and offering unique solutions to the challenges faced by farmers and agricultural professionals.
