Additional Value of Attending

The Igeho Rising Star Award, supported by Transgourmet/Prodega, is an esteemed competition for entrepreneurs and start-ups in the hospitality industry. The competition is open to young companies and start-ups that are currently developing or offer innovative, sustainable products and services, or digital business models with the potential to impact the future in a groundbreaking way.

The primary goal of the competition is to find fresh ideas for the hospitality industry and foster advances in the industry by networking the hospitality start-up scene with potential investors and customers. An independent jury is in charge of selecting the winners of the award and evaluating each application based on several criteria - innovative strength, sustainability, market relevance, and growth potential.

Candidates can compete in two categories - “Entrepreneurial Concepts” and “Start-ups” – and the winners receive prize money of CHF 2,500 each. Winning comes with its own distinct perks such as more visibility and promotion, and connections to big-time investors and decision makers. It’s the most effective way to ensure a quick blast-off in the industry.

Of course, there’s much to explore at Igeho. The Cooking Arena puts you under its spell with some exciting live cooking demonstrations in the fully equipped show kitchen. Fresh talent and veteran chefs dazzle and tantalise with extraordinary dishes. Culinary professionals have the chance to level up their own skills by signing up for the master classes held at specially installed conference rooms, which will be very hands-on.

Another popular feature is the Micro Area for brewery, distillery and roastery. This is the area for small producers to stand out from the rest and receive their due attention from trade visitors. These producers offer unique and bespoke artisanal experiences. Impressive flavours, bold smells and a sense of community. That’s what you discover here.
