Industry Relevance

INTERBOOT is an annual event that brings together enthusiasts and industry professionals from around the German region. Founded in 1962, this fair takes place at Messe Friedrichshafen, providing a stunning backdrop against the picturesque lakeside of Friedrichshafen. The excellent combination of the modern exhibition halls and the harbour create a truly immersive experience for all involved. Today, INTERBOOT is stronger than ever, building a powerful momentum after the pandemic slump. The trade fair cements its position as the second largest fair of its kind in all of Germany.

At INTERBOOT, visitors can expect to discover the latest advancements and trends in the world of water sports. The exhibition spans across numerous spaces, including action platforms, indoor and outdoor areas, where international producers showcase their extensive range of products. INTERBOOT is not only a showcase of products but also a hub for networking and knowledge sharing. The fair facilitates meetings between producers, dealers, and shipyards, fostering valuable connections within the industry. Additionally, the Interboot Academy organises an attractive seminar program, which features informative sessions covering a range of topics related to water sports. These seminars provide attendees with valuable insights and enhance their understanding of the industry.

Furthermore, INTERBOOT creates an engaging and vibrant atmosphere by offering exciting informal meeting spaces. These spaces serve as ideal settings for visitors to connect with like-minded individuals, exchange ideas and forge new relationships.

Who Are You Going to Meet?

Organisers want to instill love for sailing, maritime culture and water sports across all ages as well as all purchasing abilities. Visitors can experience new boats and equipment as well as a dedicated area for used boats. Enthusiasts and industry professionals have a lot to gain from attending. Plus, the excellent location, live events and opportunities to learn and practice turn INTERBOOT into a fantastic time out for the whole family. The trade fair is mostly attended by visitors from Germany, Austria and Switzerland – three strong markets with a proven love for maritime passion!

Additional Value of Attending

In addition to the wealth of product showcases, INTERBOOT fully involves visitors in all sorts of ways. Sailing enthusiasts can head towards the IBN action area, where seasoned seafarers will give a series of lectures on crucial practical skills such as how to polish and grind your boat, how to do stand-up paddling safely, how to sail quickly, and how to correctly transport boats.

The Outlook for 2024

The 2023 edition of INTERBOOT is the last time you’ll experience the trade fair as it is. Starting in 2024, the fair will reshape its format and duration. Based on the results of an exhibitor survey, it has been decided to relaunch INTERBOOT as a five-day event, reducing its previous duration of nine days. The decision was primarily driven by the preferences of the exhibitors, who expressed a clear majority in favour of the shorter duration.

By shortening it, INTERBOOT aims to adapt to the evolving needs and preferences of exhibitors while ensuring a more focused and impactful experience for attendees. This strategic decision also underscores the commitment of Messe Friedrichshafen to continuously improve and optimise the fair, aligning it with values of sustainability.
