Why Your Visit Is Worth It?

It’s simple. ITB Berlin generates business for everyone involved. It’s easily one of the largest fairs in the travel industry and the beating heart of tourism in Europe. Attendance gets rewarded with first-rate contacts and a boost in visibility. Exhibitors easily tap into the whole world and enter far markets without many of the financial obstacles associated. You make back all the money you’ve spent on exhibiting within the first day. Let’s take a look at the numbers from the last live edition:

  • 10,000 international exhibitors;
  • 110,000 trade visitors;
  • 1000 qualified top buyers;
  • 160,000 international visitors in total;
  • 180+ countries represented.

Organisers are very much looking forward to generating similar numbers once ITB Berlin returns as a physical event.

Industry Relevance

After having seen the data from above for last edition, it’s not going to sound like an exaggeration to brand ITB Berlin as the biggest tourism trade fair in the world. After all, the fair managed to reach a turnover of 7 billion Euro in 2019. If that’s not a reason to reserve an exhibition booth, we don’t know what is. ITB Berlin relies on a highly segmented structure by niche to keep the flow of people moving and introduce supply to demand more efficiently.

Visitors look forward to finding out the latest in Book World, Business Travel Days, Cruises, Cultural Tourism, Economy Accommodation, eTravel World, Adventure & Responsible Tourism, Gay & Lesbian Travel, ITB Mobile Travel Services, Training and Employment (Career Center), Travel Technology, Trends & Events, Wellness, and finally, Youth Travel.

The pandemic has had a major impact on the travel sector as a whole. Tourism was dead for the first two years and only now do we see the return of travel for leisure. How will the industry react to the continuous changes? What are helpful strategies to survive? What are the emerging trends and priorities for consumers? You’ll be able to answer all these questions, while networking with high-calibre players.

Who Are You Going to Meet?

Having established ITB Berlin as the leading market in the world, it’s not a surprise to discover a wealth of visitors and exhibitors across the entire value chain and at every level. Exhibitors run the full spectrum from hotels, tourist boards and tour operators to system providers, airlines and car rental companies. The trade fair used to be open to both trade visitors and the general public, but this has changed with the 2023 edition, which shifted to a trade-visitor-only event.

The audience is made up of experts, professionals and buyers. One of the best assets of the fair is the ITB Buyers Circle, which admits only serious buyers with a background in leisure, business travel or MICE. The club guarantees the participation of top decision makers, who attend only to conduct business, negotiate pricing and find new products and partners.

Additional Value of Attending

ITB Berlin has expanded to new virtual horizons. A clear example is TRVLX. In short, it’s a new B2B LIVE networking event series. It’s all taking place online, which allows organisers to select widely from all over the world and help businesses establish valuable connections. The series is done as a collaboration with destination partners. The 2022 debut focused on European buyers, and the very first partnering country was Georgia. What’s unique about TRVLX is that no event is ever the same. Meetings, workshops, and the pool of people differ every time.

For live editions, exhibitors can count on the ITB Speed Networking Events to meet with the key players relevant in their sector. The events are a series of short meetings that last up to 8 minutes. Each meeting is scheduled beforehand and a participant can participate in up to 9 meetings in total. It’s an incredibly quick and efficient way to grab the interest of a potential partner without spending a lot of time and energy.
