A Brief Overview of ITES

Shenzhen houses the largest and most influential industrial exhibition in China – ITES. It’s the definitive meeting point for professionals to research technological innovations, source suppliers and exchange expertise. Exhibitors tap the entire market with a single event and have the resources to carve out a name for themselves in China. New technologies, demonstrations and networking fill the entire four days of the exhibition and it’s not one to be missed.

China is a long way from home and you need a partner to support you on your business trip. GETA ltd is here to make hotel reservations for ITES and guide you the entire time you’re there. Why Your Visit Is Worth It?

ITES forms the beating heart of industrial manufacturing and equipment in China. You’re able to target the entire country and surrounding region. It’s a guarantee that you’ll hit your sales goals. All major buyers are in attendance and they’re eager to examine new technologies and solutions. What makes ITES a perfect entry point to the Chinese market is its scale.

Here are the most recent exhibition numbers. You’ve not seen anything like it:

  • 2111 international exhibitors
  • 140,000+ international trade visitors
  • 1600+ business delegations
  • 240,000 sq. metres of exhibition space

Industry Relevance

Shenzhen International Industrial Manufacturing Technology and Equipment Exhibition (ITES) is a defining exhibition for high-end equipment, advanced manufacturing technology, professional automation equipment and technology. It first debuted as SIMM back in 2000, which ran at a much smaller scale compared to today. The big change in name happened in 2020, when SIMM added another 100,000 sq. metres of exhibition space and transitioned to its new identity. Editions are held in late March every year at the Shenzhen World Exhibition Center (Bao'an Venue).

The new added space explores newly added product groups and services that include factory intelligent logistics, assembly automation, robot applications, electronics and wiring equipment and motion control. Today, ITES services the entire hierarchy of needs for manufacturers, which makes the exhibition an unmissable event and a highly successful procurement platform. Supply meets demand in a productive, loose environment. The product portfolio is structured around the following five chief sectors that have their own mini-exhibitions:

  • Metal Cutting Machine Tool Exhibition (digital manufacturing precision machining, core functional components, gantry machine tools, CNC machine tools, five-axis)
  • Metal Forming Machine Tool Exhibition (stamping and automation equipment, welding equipment, sheet metal processing and automation equipment)
  • Robotics and Automation Equipment Exhibition (intelligent logistics and packaging automation, motion control automation technology, machine vision systems)
  • Industrial Supply Exhibition: (industrial parts, mold and mold accessories, industrial materials, fasteners, metal additive manufacturing)
  • Shenzhen Electronics Intelligent Manufacturing Exhibition: (circuit board & template (foundry), electronic components, electronic product solutions, electronic assembly production equipment)

ITES does an exceptional job to connect the right buyer to the right product. There’s a series of guided tours that take potential buyers on a tour of all the relevant exhibitors to exchange contact details and get a better sense of what’s on offer.

Product displays and demonstrations are enhanced by official product launches. Many companies tend to schedule new product releases to coincide with ITES so that they can get the most attention from the professional community live. In previous editions, ITES has seen the launch of over ten new robotics from Kawasaki Robotics, the Smart High-efficiency Laser Welding System from Trumpf and the New Automation Solution from Bystronic.

Who Are You Going to Meet?

The exhibitor list for ITES always hosts well established industry juggernauts such as Bystronic, Mazak, MAKINO, NS TOOL, ROKAE, HSG, BYD, SEER and Jaye Precision Metal. They’re the ones that guarantee that decision makers from all industries make it to the exhibition and place their orders. As a Chinese event, both exhibitors and visitors are for the most part Chinese, but the exhibition has been making strong moves towards opening itself to the rest of the world.

Trade visitors represent a variety of professional backgrounds – metalworking, 3C, IoT, optics, automotive manufacturing, semiconductors, medical manufacturing, dies and molds. You’re able to reach potential buyers across several unrelated industries and diversify revenue streams. The vast majority of visitors also occupy a leadership role in their company whether it’s management, C-level executives or owners. They have purchasing power and their main goal is to purchase.

In that sense, ITES is the engine that drives not just innovation, but business on the highest level.

Additional Value of Attending

As part of the rebranding and updating the exhibition’s concepts, organisers adopted a new model for ITES and that’s to combine the massively successful exhibition with a conference programme. In 2021, five industry summits made their debut targeting medical devices, new energy, electronic intelligent manufacturing, battery technology, and mold manufacturing.

The conference tracks were a resounding success with over 9000 audience members and a stacked line-up of speakers. Visitors rated the conference positively and now it’s become a staple event for future editions. Speakers touch upon topics such as emerging trends and technologies, the state of the market today and where enterprises are headed. Sessions also outlined possible solutions and strategies to overcome the big challenges of today.

Emphasis fell on environmental measures and green technologies. Industrial manufacturing is the world’s biggest pollutant and experts are working towards adopting eco-friendly processes and reducing waste production. Improving recycling, inventing new materials and achieving circular economies are the biggest goals in front of enterprises for the near future.
