Industry Relevance

JEC World is the ultimate destination for composite industry professionals from around the world, who are looking to keep up with future trends and what’s currently ready to enter the market. The first edition of the annual trade fair took place in 1963 at Paris-Nord Villepinte Parc d'Expositions in Paris, France, which it still calls home to this day. As one of the world's leading trade fairs for composite materials, JEC World offers a comprehensive overview of the value chain starting with raw materials and ending with processors and users.

The show floors are dedicated to the following product sectors and types of exhibitors:

  • Producer of Raw Materials
  • Equipment to Manufacture Raw Materials & Intermediates
  • Equipment to Produce and Test Composite parts
  • Consumables Used with Manufacturing Equipment
  • Fiber Based Textile Intermediates (All types of fibers)
  • Fiber/Resin Based Semi-Finished Intermediates
  • Producer of Other Semi-Finished Intermediates e.g. Standard Products For Machining
  • Software Supplier for Design and/or Manufacturing
  • Distributors, Agents & Representatives
  • Composite Parts Producer by Process
  • Recycler of Composite Raw Materials, Intermediates & Finished Parts
  • Associations, Third Parties, Service Providers & Consultants

Affectionately referred to as the ‘festival of composites,’ JEC World clearly demonstrates the rich variety of applications that composites offer to sectors, including aerospace, marine, construction, and automotive industries.

The exhibition is not just a platform for major global companies, but also for innovative startups, experts, academics, scientists, and R&D leaders in the field of composites and advanced materials. You can thank an incredible support programme that covers every possible format - conferences, technical and economic forums, workshops, and business meetings.

JEC World has been so successful that it has led to the creation of JEC Composites Show Asia in Singapore. For composite industry professionals, JEC World is the “place to be” every year, a unique opportunity to network with peers, discover the latest trends and innovations, and gain insights into the future of the industry.

Who Are You Going to Meet?

The first thing we have to acknowledge here is that JEC World is a global trade fair in every sense. Visitors fly in from all over the world. This includes the entire European market (France, Germany, Great Britain and Italy are most represented) as well as North America (the United States is the fifth country with most visitors at the trade fair) and Asia (China, Korea, Japan, India).

Exhibitors get direct lines to department heads and specialists working in engineering, sales, R&D, production and manufacturing working within aerospace, building & civil engineering, renewable energy, equipment & machinery, and automotive & road transportation. These are all people, who either have real decision-making powers or work in advisory positions that influence purchasing.

The companies you’re most likely to encounter at JEC World include brands like BOEING, DCA, Ford, Hyundai, Jaguar, Land Rover, Alstom, edf renouvelables, GEELY, LG, Decathlon, Ducati and BMW.

Additional Value of Attending

JEC World is known for its innovative approach to showcasing new technologies and processes in the field. To further this mission, JEC World offers a portfolio of thematic villages, each dedicated to a specific area of the composite industry and tackling exciting macro-trends happening as we speak. Villages are organised in partnership with universities, R&D and technology centres, and present the latest scientific and technological developments through exciting product showcases and live demos. At JEC World 2023, attendees will have access to several thematic villages - 3D Printing Village, Natural Fibers Village, Campus Village, Startup Village, and SME Village.

The 3D Printing Village is dedicated to additive manufacturing and showcases the latest in this field, with live 3D demonstrations throughout the three days of the show. Coordinated by Institut Mines-Telecom (IMT) and sponsored by Thermwood, the 3D Printing Village promotes the work of schools such as IMT Mines Alès, IMT Mines Albi and IMT Nord Europe.

The Natural Fibers Village is another thematic village that has gained significant attention in recent years, given the strong growth of the composite market in multiple sectors. This village showcases biobased, renewable materials poised to become the next big thing as consumers increasingly call for a more sustainable development.

JEC World 2023 will also host a new area dedicated to education and training: the Campus Village that targets the younger generation. Demand for young engineers is at an all-time high, so it’s not surprising to see the need for the Campus Village as a networking platform and job search tool.
