Event Update

MCE 2026 will be hosted in a face-to-face format. The event will be held at the Fiera Milano. The dates for the fair are set between 24.03.2026–27.03.2026. The latest edition of MCE will not feature strict COVID-19 prevention measures. This is because of the state government removing the related domestic regulations during 2022. The country currently does not have travel limitations in place.

A Brief Overview of MCE

MCE creates a new future for living and work spaces. It features a broad selection of products, which are grouped in the following zones – Indoor Climate, Water Solutions, Plant Technologies, That’s Smart and Biomass. The international exhibition values innovation and emphasises on the importance of sustainability and minimising the impact of construction on natural resources. MCE also brings out exhibitors to a large, global stage where they can build up their brand.

Why Your Visit Is Worth It

MCE takes place once every two years, which makes attendance less cost-heavy. This is welcome news for smaller companies who can’t commit to an annual event. At the same time, companies are launched in front of serious buyers. The volume and quality of contacts are solid reasons to attend. You’ll earn back exhibition costs on the very first day. Editions perform incredibly well. Here are a few key numbers from the past:

  • 2300+ international exhibitors showcase;
  • 162,000+ international trade visitors visit;
  • 54 countries represented;
  • 85% satisfaction rate among exhibitors;

Industry Relevance

MCE follows a biennial schedule and editions are normally held during the start of September at Fiera Milano. The international exhibition has been an active part of Milan’s event calendar since 1960 and is often the first place where new concepts and cutting-edge technology debut for the world to see. As far as products go, you have the entire value chain under one roof.

We’re talking solar power equipment, HVAC, fuels for biomass heating, insulation technology, biomass plants, pellets, water treatment, filters, fluid tanks, fuels, fume hoods, gaskets, gauges, geothermal power plants. Programming lasts for a total of four days and you have access to talks and conferences. The events you certainly can’t afford to miss are the BIM Forum and the series of workshops for Energy Efficiency 4.0.

Who Are You Going to Meet?

Exhibitors are often suppliers, manufacturers and service providers across many fields within the housing industry. They’re nearly even split between native brands and international companies in favour of Italian companies. Some of the names you might encounter include ABN Pipe Systems, 2 Emme Clima, AACO Manufacturing and AAA International Holding Company. Visitors come from a variety of fields themselves. You get to meet professionals from agencies, installation and maintenance, shops and showrooms, universities and schools. Of course, where would we be without buyers and purchase managers? Visitors report a high satisfaction rate in the high 90s and many also commit to return for the next edition.

Additional Value of Attending

The pandemic has led to the adoption of digital resources and the rise of the hybrid format. If you can’t attend in person, you can take part in the digital version. It’s important to see the virtual show as a way to support the live event. You still get the chance to consume a lot of content and enjoy networking functions. Despite not being able to be there in person, you still benefit from all the opportunities to further your business.

Let’s take a quick look at the support programme. One of the most informative events is the MEP BIM FORUM, which examines the current trends happening in the world of digitalisation. You’ll hear from top players about all the ways digital systems can support the entire process of design, installation and management of plants within the building’s whole life cycle. This opens a whole new world for specialised companies. The forum features information sessions, case histories and experiences, which together illustrate the potential of BIM.

Energy Efficiency 4.0 workshops continue conversations surrounding sustainability, automation and digitization in the industry. There are workshops that will tackle the specific needs, challenges and opportunities in the healthcare sector as well. Overall, the programme focuses on how much the production systems of medium size manufacturers have evolved in recent years. You’ll hear all about circular economy concepts, production cycles flexibility, and efficient use of resources.

MCE IN THE CITY is an event dedicated to home eco-sustainability. The focus here is to see all the ways the house of tomorrow can consume less power and use fewer resources in order to have a positive impact on every-day life as well as minimise its carbon footprint. In 2022, MCE zoned off a specific area in one of the most exclusive and sustainability oriented districts in Milan. Organisers set up a home-shaped building with reflective surfaces, which allows visitors to fully immerse themselves. The building features installation with mirror walls and an LED-wall, which when in use create a kaleidoscopic effect.

MCE thrives on innovation. Organisers capitalise on this with Percorso Efficienza & Innovazione – an initiative that highlights the solutions best suited to solve the toughest challenges that affect installations. The innovations presented here cover the entire processing chain from production all the way to management. It’s important to note that Percorso Efficienza & Innovazione always reacts to recent changes in consumer behaviour and market trends. Whenever there’s a change in environmental, economic and social needs, the lineup of innovations clearly shows it.

Finally, we must highlight the MCE Circular Economy events. The circular economy has become a leading theme at the trade show and for good reason. In order to preserve the planet, companies have to limit the waste of raw materials and energy and overall minimise waste and losses. MCE creates programming that gives practical advice to manufacturers. Past examples include ‘Circular economy: regenerative growth model’ and ‘States-General: circular economy, circular city.’
