The Latest News

COVID-19 cannot stop the next in-person editions of TrendSet in 2024. The July show will follow its regular scheduling, and the official dates have been confirmed for 06.07.2024-08.07.2024, respectively. The reception of the last live edition in winter 2024 has been a motivator in creating an even better, safer trade fair for everyone. TrendSet GmbH is closely following the guidelines and regulations, which the government has issued for all trade fairs running on the territory of Germany. At present, Messe Munich will not feature Covid-19 safety measures due to the country's government removing the related domestic and international travel restrictions. This is due to the improving pandemic situation.

The B2B event is perfect for launching products and getting early sales. As a whole, exhibitors tend to make most of their money spent on exhibiting on the very first day. Editions perform exceptionally well even during the pandemic. Here are some of the key numbers from previous editions:

  • 2500+ brands and collections
  • 35,000+ trade visitors in attendance
  • 2 editions per year
  • 40 countries
  • 18 exhibition halls
  • 115,000 square metres of exhibition space

Industry Relevance

For 60 years, TrendSet has been at the forefront of innovations and creativity in lifestyle and home goods. The international trade fair is held biennially in Munich, Germany with editions in January and July in order to capture seasonal trends in great detail. Messe München is outfitted to showcase the newest in 15 product categories - furniture and lighting, decorating and accessories, furnishings and design objects, home and textiles, kitchen and table top, food and drink, gifts and fun, spirituals and souvenirs, Christmas and seasonals, stationary and papers, floristry and garden, office and school, hobbies and toys, fashion and jewellery, beauty and wellness. TrendSet is a showcase for European design and is the most important platform for established companies and newcomers to reach their audience as easily as possible.

TrendSet performs an even more important role now that the pandemic is still going on. The first set of lockdowns dramatically changed the relationships people have with their home, whether it’s bought or rented. Now more than ever people are interested in creating a comfortable space that helps them work, relax and improve their mental health.

The home renovation market is booming and more people are hiring designers and investing in renovations. Following interior design trends is a trend itself. What we’re seeing emerge is the need to soundproof homes since most of us have to work from home. The home office is now part of everyday life. Additionally, people are looking into open space ideas and brighter colours have reached a new height in popularity.

Who Are You Going to Meet?

There’s a wide range of exhibitors that attend TrendSet regularly with brands like Vosteen, Cor Mulder, DECORAMA, Brucs, GIFTCOMPANY, AM-Design and Hübsch Interior. They’re there to meet with a variety of professionals. The vast majority represent specialty trade and retail, online trade and wholesale, but there are also broader market segments present. Given how many different product groups there are, you’ll meet with representatives of the gastronomy and hotel industry, furniture and furnishings stores, hardware stores, DIY stores, garden stores, jewellery trade, property planning companies, and the beauty and wellness industry.

Advertising agencies, interior designers, beauty and wellness companies, the HoReCa sector, DIY and garden centres, furniture and kitchen suppliers are also in the mix. The German market is well showcased, but there’s also a high number of international buyers. The countries with the largest visitor numbers are Liechtenstein, Hungary, Israel, China, USA, India, France, Czech Republic, Austria, Latvia, and Italy.

Additional Value of Attending

The trade show has grown and evolved over the years to incorporate more products into its portfolio. In addition to all the standard exhibition areas, visitors can also direct their attention to the three recently formed Topic Areas. What this means for exhibitors is a lot more visibility, if they happen to fall into one of three categories.

TrendSet Bijoutex: It’s time to look at emerging trends in fashion and beauty. This is definitely a much different product group for TrendSet. Experience the latest in fashion jewellery, beauty, fashion and accessories from national and international exhibitors alike. Visitors love this area because they can find everything they need to complete an outfit – dresses, shoes, pants, jackets, jewellery, belts, purses and scarves. The level of synergy is not to be missed.

TrendSet Fine Arts: Homeowners value more than just standard interior pieces and decorations. They want their home to be truly beautiful and have value. It’s why this area for contemporary fine art in Munich got its start. If we think about art, we think of paintings, photography, sculptures, drawings, and graphics. You’ll find everything you want and more. The area attracts gallery owners, auction houses, art dealers, architects, interior designers, and trade visitors from the interior and lifestyle sector. This is where aspiring artists can find their big break on a commercial, national level.

TrendSet Newcomer: If you’re a start-up or a local company, this top area makes it easier to get noticed among all the other brands on display. This is where first-time exhibitors and companies that are small and local have the best chance to get brand recognition and find relevant buyers. It’s the place to discover unique voices, and why buyers are sure to check them out well in advance.
