BULMEDICA has been going on for a long time. The very first edition took place back in 1965 and since the beginning has been a very important trade show for the region. Today, it’s the best way for exhibitors to gain access to South Eastern Europe. BULMEDICA takes place once every year at Inter Expo Centre in Sofia, Bulgaria, around spring and summer. BULMEDICA is co-held with the premier dental show in Eastern Europe, BULDENTAL, for dental equipment, techniques, materials, and consumables. Together they create incredible market synergy. 

Editions offer a good mix of support programming from top organisations like the Bulgarian Red Cross and experts, and a large product portfolio. BULMEDICA was also one of the few trade shows to be able to take place physically during the early months of the pandemic. The live show tackled the unique challenges posed by the pandemic in terms of patient care. The main theme of the trade show was “Don't delay your treatment” as the biggest movement in the medical field was disease prevention. 

Diabetes prevention is also front and centre as one of the most widely spread conditions that affect communities right now. The National Diabetes Association presents an online and offline program with self-help groups such as “Lose Weight Boldly”.
