The Charlotte Convention Centre opened in 1995 and is expected to undergo an extensive expansion. It is visited by over 500 000 visitors every year. It is a popular hosting site with examples including the ASME TURBO EXPO. 

Charlotte Convention Centre has 3 floors with 36 meeting spaces on them. These include 3 exhibition halls, 2 ballrooms, 6 VIP suites, a registration area and 19 meeting rooms. It also has a pre-function area linked to one of the ballrooms as well as a street garden and terrace which also act as outdoor areas. The venue can accommodate a total of 31286 people. This is due to the flexibility of all meeting areas including the ballrooms which can be divided into 2 or more spaces of smaller proportions.
