The Knokke-Heist Cultural Centre is one of the city’s main attractions. Known as Scharpoord the venue was designed by architect Paul Felix. It is constructed between 1970 and 1974 and has undergone several expansions and changes. For instance, the venue received an expansion to its library in 2009. The expansion took the form of an added media library. The Cultural Centre is not listed as а monument; yet, it is on the Inventory of Architectural Heritage. The venue is 50 minutes journey by car from Ostend-Bruges International Airport. It is also 10 minutes walking distance of Knokke Railway Station.
