Dubai International Convention & Exhibition Centre
The Dubai International Convention & Exhibition Centre is a story continuing to be told over the decades as more and more facilities and buildings are added to the main grounds. The DICEC – as it is abbreviated – started off in 1979 on Sheikh Zayed Road as only one 39-storey tall building with offices and then gradually began adding more and more halls over the decades. This also led to the construction of a brand new DICEC centre attached to the rest in 2003. What this culminates to is 21 exhibition halls that cover 111,000 m² (~1,195,000 sq. ft.) and 40 other event rooms. It’s why DICEC ranks as one of the most influential exhibition centres in the Middle East as it sees on an annual basis 3,000,000 visitors from 160 countries.
In addition to the exhibition halls, other major features are Dubai International Convention Centre with the capacity for 4500 people and the Trade Centre Arena, which can easily be used for sports events and concerts, and house 10,000 spectators. Given how the ADNEC is truly one small city in on its own. It makes sense that it also offers amenities for relaxation and rest such as several hotels as part of the main complex like the VIP Business Hall and Majlises. The events’ calendar is full at ADNEC and some of the most notable exhibitions to take place include Paperworld Middle East, Automechanika Dubai, Dubai Travel Market, Arab Health and Intersec.
