The Port des Minimes is among the leading ports of the world and the Atlantic Coast. It is a 70-hectares marina established in 1972 with 5000 berths. The port is visited by over 100 000 visitors every year and has 4 basins. The port is quite popular both for aquatic pleasure activities and hosting events. The Port des Minimes is located on the La Rochelle marina. The marina is the largest in the world, with 70 hectares of land. The port has 5000 berths with 300 of them dedicated to visitors. There are additionally 15 kilometres of pontoons which can be used for exhibitions. 4 basins form the port's land. These are the Lazaret, Marillac, the Tamaris and the Bout-Blanc. Apart from the sea, the port is also reachable from land. For instance, the La Rochelle Airport is less than 25 minutes away when driving a car.
