About The Venue

The Rittergut Bockerode is a historical manor complex. It is an estate which was built around the 17th century by the Bock von Wülfingen family. In present times, the estate is a self-efficient farm and biogas production centre. The estate has 290 hectares of fertile land. The estate is an essential hosting site for agricultural events. For instance, Potato Europe has been held at this location.

The present building of the estate was constructed around the 17th century by the Bock von Wülfingen family. The building has received two extensions over the years – once in the 18th century and once in 1920. 290 hectares of land surround the manor. 30 ha are dedicated to growing potatoes and another 50 to growing sugar beets. The manor also has 110 hectares of wheat and 60 of silage maize. The waste left after the processing of all local produce is used as fuel to produce biogas since 2012.
