Why Your Visit Is Worth It

EXPO Ferroviaria is a huge return on investment for anyone who aims to position themselves in Southern Europe. The exhibition is the key driving force behind sales on an international level and Italy remains an exciting, growing market with a lot of opportunities. It’s a common practice for exhibitors to time the release of new products and machinery during the event in order to get early feedback and take advantage of visitors’ eagerness to buy. You can expect to make back all costs on the first day.

EXPO Ferroviaria has expanded a lot in numbers and even the pandemic has not slowed it down:

  • 10,000+ industry experts
  • 7000+ international trade visitors
  • 200 exhibitors from 13 countries

Industry Relevance

A biennial meeting point of pivotal importance for the Italian railway sector, EXPO Ferroviaria gives a 360-degree overview of the railway innovations shaping the trajectory of the Italian market. Founded in 2004 and held at Fiera Milano, the international exhibition stands as the only B2B platform dedicated to the railway sector in the country. The event unites key stakeholders under a common roof, promoting long-term business collaboration and partnership. Whether domestic companies are seeking a broader market or international brands eyeing Italy's rail industry, EXPO Ferroviaria offers the right conditions for exhibitors to prosper.

The exhibition covers the entire spectrum of railway technology. Manufacturers across diverse rolling stock technology domains present their latest offerings that span everything from vehicle maintenance equipment and rolling stock leasing to specialised products across various categories. Here is what you can expect to see on the exhibition floor:

  • Rolling stock and traction for mainline passenger and freight traffic
  • Vehicles for regional services, metros and tram system
  • Rolling stock components and sub-systems and interior fittings
  • Track materials, construction and maintenance
  • Signalling and train control
  • Communications technology
  • Traction power supply and electrification equipment and services

One of the exhibition’s standout features, the On-Track Display always makes an impact. This dedicated exposition zone lays out sections of real tracks in the exhibition hall, giving suppliers of rail-mounted vehicles and track-related equipment the space to showcase and test their products in real-time conditions. That’s only one of the major selling points. In 2023, EXPO Ferroviaria makes history with the introduction of two new dedicated areas:

  • The Tunnelling Area: A specialised domain spotlighting companies at the forefront of tunnel and underground space construction and equipment. This exclusive zone offers a prime setting to demonstrate and explore cutting-edge tunnelling technologies.
  • The Aerospace Technology Hub: A visionary space designed to unveil how aerospace technologies will shape the future of railways. This innovative addition showcases the confluence of two dynamic industries, inviting visitors to glimpse the synergies that will shape tomorrow's rail sector.

EXPO Ferroviaria remains an industry-shaping event for those navigating the railway industry. It’s a vital hub where innovation, expertise and strategic partnerships come together to define the industry's next strides.

Who Are You Going to Meet?

Primarily known as an Italian-focused event, EXPO Ferroviaria has nonetheless made great strides in expanding its global reach. Currently, 21% of exhibitors are foreign companies, travelling from close neighbours like Spain, Portugal and France. The upcoming edition in 2023 will improve on exhibitor numbers and variety as 36% of anticipated exhibitors will have a booth at Fiera Milano for the very first time.
