Why Your Visit Is Worth It

Foire de Lyon introduces you to the general public like no other fair in Europe. The trade fair is the place to generate the most sales without having to spend much. You just need a great booth and a friendly attitude. The traffic of visitors comes to you naturally and you connect with end consumers directly. Launching new products is always a winning strategy since customers tend to search for the newest finds.

  • 212,000+ international visitors in total
  • 800+ exhibitors

Industry Relevance

Foire de Lyon has a long history as one of the longest-running consumer fairs not just in Europe, but the rest of the world. The very first edition took place back in 1916 on a much smaller scale. Over a century, the trade fair has emerged as a hotspot for business in the region and a source of new customers for exhibitors. Foire de Lyon welcomes spring each year in early April and editions run for eleven days, presenting to hundreds of thousands of visitors a rich selection of products for every use. The hustle and bustle is joined by a lot of street vendors, games and attractions to make the experience truly special.

Eurexpo Lyon provides exhibitors with varied terrain and facilities to help them reach the most number of target visitors. The exhibition space is split between UNIVERS Maison and UNIVERS Shopping.

UNIVERS Maison presents the largest product assortment for décor, small and large projects for home renovation. Exhibitors here cover every product category for every room in the house. Not only do visitors have everything they could ever want for their home, but they also benefit from the expertise of exhibitors to receive practical information on how to approach their house projects.

UNIVERS Maison brings you consumer goods for all needs and occasions – accessories, sporting goods, fashion, personal care items, jewellery, food items and ingredients, electronics, healthcare and gardening tools.

Who Are You Going to Meet?

The majority of visitors are from the Lyon greater region (71%) and a total of 96% are located in the Rhône-Alpes region. The rest travel from all over France with some visitors travelling from neighbouring European countries. Over half of visitors are between 25 and 54 years of age, and they spend on average €417, making Foire de Lyon an exciting platform to do business and create brand recognition among end consumers.

Foire de Lyon attracts a very specific type of customer and embodies the major consumer trends in 2023. These are people, who prefer to buy from local companies and value trust. They prefer to meet brands in person and form a personal connection by asking questions. This is in contrast to the rise of ecommerce, especially during the pandemic. Exhibitors have all the tools to form strong bonds and earn customers’ loyalty. Finally, the fair is a go-to option for people who want to have a personal experience and have a little fun. There’s quite a lot to do at the fair besides shopping!

Additional Value of Attending

Each edition of Foire de Lyon carves out days to host smaller, much more focused trade fairs that target specific product groups and consumer segments. The programme for 2023 features:

  • INNOVA'LYON: a start-up village, March 31st – April 2nd
  • LITTLE BIG FAIR: a village for creators, artists, vintage and 2nd hand pieces
  • KIDEXPO: products for infants, toddlers and children, April 1st – April 2nd
  • BABY LOUNGE: lounge for young parents, April 1st – April 2nd
  • AUX VIGNOBLES: fair for wines and gastronomy, April 8th – April 10th

INNOVA'LYON places a lot of value on young companies, which are doing something with their product lineup and want direct feedback from their intended audience. For three days, innovators in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes showcase and demonstrate their offerings to visitors and generate sales. The village is entering its fifth year and has been met with strong support from organisers and the general public.

Visitors also get to vote for the products and companies they’ve found most interesting and useful in four categories. Startups compete for the award for eco-responsibility, the Public Favorite, the Innovation Award and the BFM Special Prize. Startups are eligible for all four awards.

The LITTLE BIG FAIR is all about the hottest trends and catches the attention of most people. In addition to all the shopping opportunities, there’s space for meetings as well as entertainment and relaxation. Exhibitors are divided into several themed areas – fashion & beauty, decoration, food, leisure and green products. The food space in particular is not to be missed with the variety of offerings from local brands.

The meeting spaces are a slice of home life, while the area dedicated to urban culture transports you to the busy city life outside. Thrifty customers can enjoy the unique finds at the Second Hand market. Finally, there’s a modular space, which hosts a variety of workshops and live events. No matter what niche you occupy, there’s space for you and an enthusiastic audience that’s eager to discover what you have to sell.
