Why Is Your Visit Worth It?

Nor-Fishing gives you unrestricted access to the fisheries' industry on a global level. This is useful whether you wish to keep yourself up to date with the latest trends, grow your market share in new regions, or simply focus on driving immediate sales. The expo has a very generous distribution of exhibitors to visitors:

  • 500+ international exhibitors showcased at the event;
  • 17,000+ international visitors from 50+ countries made the trip.

Industry Relevance

There does not seem to be a chance for Nor-Fishing to slow down or shrink in size. The expo is on an upwards trajectory since its establishment in 1960 in Trondheim, which made a very natural choice as host since it’s already a home to a thriving fishing industry. To underline just how vital the expo has become for Norway’s economy, past editions in recent history have regularly been opened by representatives of the Royal Family. Editions take place at Trondheim Spektrum every two years, alternating with AQUA NOR, which is held in odd years. The product portfolio at Nor-Fishing is its greatest strength as there’s fish processing, fishing boats, fishing equipment, fishing ports, cooling devices, electronics, environmental protection, packaging, research, safety equipment and so much more to discover.

Who Are You Going to Meet?

Nor-Fishing is mainly established as an event that is geared towards facilitating deals and the proper business matchmaking, to which end there is a strong presence from decision makers and procurement officers from the fisheries' industry in Norway and other important fishing nations. At the same time, Nor-Fishing opens its doors to the public and combines all the trade events with a relaxed social program that leads to more natural conversations. Paired with the rich conference track that boasts seminars, mini-conferences, lectures and debates, it’s impossible not to meet experts, engineers, and influencers at all levels in the industry.

Additional Value of Attending

Nor-Fishing sees value not just in formal networking environments, but also socialization off the clock. You will have plenty of chances to meet your peers in a more relaxed setting where enjoying yourself comes first, and professional contacts come second. The best of all is the traditional gala dinner, which is going to take place at Clarion Brattøra Hotel. Organisers expect a strong interest, because they’ve made 400 seats available. That’s double compared to the previous live edition.

The social events programme expands with the addition of two new events meant to help people meet in a more informal manner. First is After Fish, held right after Trondheim Spektrum closes its doors and lasts a few hours in the afternoon. Then there’s the nighttime party called Night Fish. You can expect glorious food and fabulous entertainment.

The Nor-Fishing Foundation deeply understands the need for innovation and continuation. Getting new people to enter the fishing industry with new mindsets and points of view is vital. This is why the Student Day exists in the first place. This separate day has been planned among the foundation, NTNU, Brohode Havbruk 2050 and regional partners and wraps up the show’s programme. All students gain access to the fair without having to pay for their tickets. Not only do they learn about the industry, but have productive meetings with companies and organisations. The most talented can leave home with job offers!

Finally, we have to mention the added value from the numerous awards given away by the Nor-Fishing Foundation. Exhibitors fiercely compete for the chance to win the most important of them all: the Innovation Award, which was first awarded in 2003 and comes with generous prize money. Not to mention the added visibility and new market opportunities. The Directorate of Fisheries’ Environment Award rewards efforts towards environment protection and comes with its own brand of prestige, especially now given the climate crisis upon us. Last but not least is the Best Stand Award for imaginative contributions to the trade fair!
