Why Your Visit Is Worth It
Rheingolf sets trends and influences consumer behaviour. Adding your brand to the rest translates to high sales numbers and you’re likely to make up what you’ve spent on exhibiting right on the very first day. Golfers, professionals or otherwise, are always looking to upgrade their gear, so it’s a productive platform when it comes to launching new products.
The first edition of Rheingolf since the pandemic has shown real promise in its ability to bounce back:
- 100 exhibitors from 11 nations
- 8000 international visitors in total
Industry Relevance
For over two decades, the Rheingolf fair has been a highlight of the European golfing calendar. Held annually in Düsseldorf, Germany since 1999, Rheingolf is the largest public event for golf and golf tourism in Europe. Given that the “Euregio” region of Düsseldorf is known to have the highest density of golf players in Central Europe, it’s no wonder that the city is the perfect location to host the event. There are over 300,000 active golfers living within a 200 km radius of the city – great news for exhibitors on the lookout to gain new customers.
Although a predominantly European event, exhibitors from around the world showcase the latest products and services related to the game of golf, from equipment and clothing to golf courses and literature. Rheingolf is the platform for news, information, and exclusive offers at the beginning of the golf season, which officially starts in March.
In addition to the exhibition, Rheingolf offers visitors the opportunity to test their skills and knowledge on the installed driving ranges and receive valuable hints and tips from professionals to improve their own technique. The fair is also a great place to plan your next golfing adventure. Whether you're looking for luxury golf travel, golf cruises, winter golf or weekend getaways, you are most certainly guaranteed you’ll find whatever you’re craving. All the leading golf tourism and golf travel companies are a staple presence at any edition and are sure to have deals that you can’t refuse.
Last but not least, it needs saying that Rheingolf is the premiere meeting point for professionals in the golfing industry to network. It’s truly an event that cannot be missed for anything in the world.
The pandemic offered an unprecedented pause that allowed organisers to rethink and retool the fair’s entire concept. After two decades of being held at the G&CC Elfrather Mühle golf course in Krefeld, Germany, Rheingolf made the historic decision to relocate to the Station Airport located by the Düsseldorf Airport for its return in 2023. Both exhibitors and visitors met this decision with overwhelming support due to the station’s proximity to the airport, S-Bahn, Regio-Bahn and ICE.
Not only did this decision fall in line with the fair’s ambition to become more environmentally friendly, but also allowed day visitors flying in from Mallorca, London, Vienna and Munich, thus opening future editions to a more international audience. Rheingolf 2023 was also the first edition to remove entrance fees, which was also positively received, and the upcoming edition in 2024 is going to follow suit.
Who Are You Going to Meet?
Rheingolf targets the entire golfing value chain. Exhibitors represent golf tourism, golf equipment, golf trade, golf clubs, golf real estate, health and wellness. The fair targets both professionals, who have the Mythos Bar for meetings and networking, and enthusiasts. German golfers tend to be the customer segment willing to spend the most on equipment and golf vacations, so an exhibition booth here translates to satisfactory results.
The brands you can expect at the trade fair include ITALIA Golf & More, LOHBOTIC Icon, Cobra Golf, CGS ORION, Mallorca Golf Island, Arcadia, Dragon Golf, Precise Resort Bad Saarow, Hilton Vilamoura and Rheingolf Card.
Additional Value of Attending
Rheingolf has prepared an exciting supplementary programme that features presentations as part of the Campus Programme held on Sunday. But another big highlight is the BYD Senger Rheingolf Cup Putting Championship, where four-person teams compete in a putt-off for the chance to win €2,000 for their team fund. The top eight teams from the qualifying rounds will square off for the grand prize in a tense final on Sunday, which will close off the entire trade fair.
In addition to the putting championship, the trade fair also features three pop-up stores offering fair bargains on golfing equipment and apparel. EvenPar Golf, Proshop Henneberg, and Niko März are the owners of the stores, offering a range of products from shoes and shirts to balls and racquets. It’s the perfect opportunity to upgrade your gear even if you’re on a tight budget. Visitors can take advantage of gear from leading brands such as Callaway, Taylormade, Cobra, and PING.
