Augsburg Trade Fair (Messe Augsburg) currently ranks as the third-largest exhibition centre in the whole of Bavaria and comes in twelfth overall in size in Germany. The centre was opened in 1986 and offers exhibitors 48,000 m² (roughly 517,000 sq. ft.) of space broken into 12 large halls, which can be reconfigured into other units. That’s not counting the congress centre and the 10,000 m² (107,000 sq. ft.), which further give Messe Augsburg the needed flexibility to host trade shows and adequately meet the needs of exhibitors. In addition to trade shows and exhibitions, this is the place to stage festivals, company presentations, television and radio events, and concerts.
Although constructed 30 years ago, Messe Augsburg continues to modernize. The most recent additions to the floor plan were made in 2008 with the edition of Hall 5 and Hall 6, which appeared on the site of two older halls. Both utilize energy-saving technologies in order to meet the recent demands for environmental protection. There is a long list of events that take place here from a variety of industry backgrounds. We’re only going to mention the biggest highlights – GrindTec, interlift, Intersana, JAGEN UND FISCHEN, RENEXPO, Augsburger Spring Exhibition and OFF-GRID Experts Workshop among others. One of the winning aspects of Messe Augsburg is its great accessibility, as it’s only an hour away from Munich and Stuttgart airport by car. This only continues to build the legacy of Augsburg as a city with a rich history of hosting trade fairs.
