Upcoming Trade Shows Wels, Austria for Horses

PFERD Wels is Austria's largest annual trade fair for equestrian sports and horse keeping, which has supported and developed the equine industry in Wels for decades. For over 30 years, the fair has been bringing together riders, breeders, and horse lovers from various disciplines. The last edition hit 47,300 visitors in attendance. The breeding shows at PFERD Wels remain a cornerstone of the event, highlighting the importance of horse breeding in Austria. In collaboration with the Association for Warmblood Breeding in Austria, the A-Sales & A-Youngster Sales were a resounding success. Over the course of the event, three to seven-year-old warmblood horses were showcased in the A-Horse Sales, followed by a presentation of young showjumping and dressage horses during the A-Youngster Sales. The interest from buyers was high, with local breeders presenting top-quality horses that attracted significant attention. Adding to the excitement, the renowned horse trainers Bernd Hackl and Kerstin Rester, known from the popular TV show Die Pferdeprofis, drew large crowds to their sessions. From Friday to Sunday, spectators watched these professionals work their magic with a participant horse, randomly selected ahead of time. Despite the unfamiliar environment of the trade fair, Bernd and Kerstin quickly built a bond with the horse, demonstrating their unique training approach and turning the session into a professional-level showcase. Their work was met with enthusiastic applause and appreciation from both the audience and horse owners.
