Upcoming Trade Shows Friedrichshafen, Germany for Horses
Pferd Bodensee 2026, Friedrichshafen, Germany
27 Feb - 1 Mar 2026
Friedrichshafen’ equine industry is already in the early preparation stages for the upcoming Pferd Bodensee 2026. The event, Southern Germany’s star horse fair, broke records in 2024 and had an invigorating effect on the local economy and local horse breeders. Project manager Jana-Marie Roth proudly announced that this year’s event featured 444 exhibitors and 41 different horse breeds, marking an all-time high for participation. Spread across seven exhibition halls and the West Foyer, Pferd Bodensee opened up new horizons in the world of horse breeding, training, equipment, and services.
A highlight of the event is its top-class program, which was held in four riding rings and three lecture forums. More than 270 horses were on display. The 2024 show expanded its offerings, introducing new features such as trailer training sessions and a dedicated family program on Sunday, which caters to a broader audience of horse lovers at all ages. The family program also includes performances from renowned equestrian artists. The 8-man team demo training event, set for Sunday, is expected to draw significant attention. This high-profile demonstration featured three disciplines — show jumping, dressage, and eventing — under the guidance of top international trainers. Otto Becker, the German national coach, led the show jumping session, while Oliver Oelrich, the Swiss national coach, focused on dressage. Sven Lux, a renowned eventing rider, concluded the demo training with insights into this demanding discipline. The event served as an excellent platform for young talents to receive expert coaching and gain valuable experience.
Another key player at Pferd Bodensee was the Marbach State Stud, which is at the forefront of new trends in ecological horse management. As Dr. Astrid von Velsen-Zerweck, State Master of Marbach, explained, the stud is transitioning to ecological farming practices in its land management, which has significant implications for horse husbandry and feeding.
