Upcoming Trade Shows Hannover, Germany for Horses

Hannover’s equine industry is welcoming a major change of its pillar event Pferd & Jagd, one of Germany’s premier trade fairs for equestrian enthusiasts, all things horses and hunters. In 2024, the event split into two specialised fairs: PASSION PFERD for riders and horse lovers, and a separate event tailored for hunters and anglers. This realignment reflects the evolving trends in the equine and hunting industries and highlights the need for more targeted experiences for distinct interest groups. PASSION PFERD is set to take over the previous dates of Pferd & Jagd and will focus entirely on equestrian sports, horse care and the broader equine lifestyle. The new format aims to provide a more tailored experience for horse breeders, riders and horse lovers with offerings across eight halls packed with exhibitors, live demonstrations, influencer meet-and-greets, and expert talks. Notably, the much-loved ""Night of the Horses"" show and the MiMaMo children’s pony show will remain integral to the new event. The decision to divide Pferd & Jagd into two distinct events was motivated by the need to serve the specific needs of each sector more effectively. Dr. Jochen Köckler, CEO of Deutsche Messe AG, emphasised that Lower Saxony’s strong traditions in both horse riding and hunting provided the perfect backdrop for this strategic realignment, and will draw more attention to the robust horses industry in Hannover. For the broader equine industry, this targeted approach is seen as a way to keep pace with growing demands for specialised content and engagement. In addition to equestrian-focused content, PASSION PFERD will also address related interests like country living and dog ownership. This diversification reflects an increasing trend in equestrian fairs to merge lifestyle elements with core industry topics, catering to a community that is as passionate about rural life as they are about riding and horse care.
