ExCeL London

ExCeL London is London’s top rated exhibition centre, which holds a number of awards for its high-end amenities and commitment to sustainability. Opened in 2000, the exhibition centre is a member of the UN Global Compact Scheme and consistently towards the reduction of its energy usage. ExCeL London occupies a 100-acre (0.40 km²) parcel and since its expansion in 2010, the centre has enclosed space totalling 100,000 m², which is divided into 5 halls suited for smaller events. The architect for the project is Sir Robert McAlpine and ExCeL London enjoys a strategic placement within close vicinity of London City Airport. The premises are service by two DLR stations and offers parking to a 3070 vehicles on the premises.

As part of its sustainability efforts, ExCeL London is encouraging cycling to the venue and this includes 60 bike racks to make it more accessible. On an annual basis, the exhibition centre sees 500 events and has the capacity for 68,750 visitors at the same time. ExCeL London is home to a number of high-profile events in industry, politics, and sports. It was the host for the G20 London Summit in 2009 as well as the military exhibition DSEI. London Guitar Show, British International Motor Show, One Young World Summit, BETT, London Travel Market and London Boat Show are also on the list. ExCeL London also has strong ties to sports events – being host to Olympic competitions in 2012 and the annual Virgin Active London Triathlon.
