We can’t talk about the clocks and watchmaking industry in Spain without mentioning Lotus – the textbook definition of style and substance in Spanish watchmaking. The company was founded in Switzerland in 1902, but didn’t enjoy its current level of success before joining the Festina Group, when it was brought under Miguel Rodríguez Domínguez’s leadership in 1981. Lotus embraces innovation with features like the chronograph and high-quality materials like titanium. With production centers shared with Festina and a reliance on Japanese quartz mechanisms, Lotus watches offer contemporary designs and reliable performance at accessible price points. Spain’s watch industry is about to enter a period of accelerated growth and diversity is going to be its secret weapon to making a lasting impact on the global watch sector.
