Upcoming Trade Shows in Turkey for Power & Energy

Türkiye is making bold strides in the power and energy industry, embracing renewable energy and innovative technologies to meet its growing demands and environmental goals. With a strategic focus on hydrogen and significant incentives for renewable energy investments, Türkiye is positioning itself as a key player in the global energy transition. Türkiye has set ambitious targets for hydrogen production, planning to achieve a hydrogen electrolysis installed capacity of 2 GW by 2030, 5 GW by 2035, and 70 GW by 2053. The country's Hydrogen Technologies Strategy and Roadmap, unveiled in 2023, outlines the development of separate hydrogen transportation pipelines alongside existing natural gas infrastructure. This infrastructure will ensure the efficient delivery of hydrogen to industrial zones nationwide by 2053. Türkiye offers substantial incentives for renewable energy projects, making it an attractive market for investors. Projects with a capacity of less than 5 MW do not require a license from the Energy Regulatory Authority (EMRA), streamlining the process for smaller-scale developments. Rooftop solar energy producers can sell excess electricity to the grid, with limits set at 5 MW for production plant owners and 10 kW for homeowners. Additionally, solar and wind energy investments benefit from customs duty exemptions, corporate tax deductions, and other incentives. Special provisions are also in place for renewable energy projects aimed at agricultural irrigation, potable water, and wastewater treatment facilities, which do not require licensing. Solar or wind energy prosumers are entitled to net-metering with the grid operator, enhancing the economic viability of these projects. Organized Industrial Zones (OIZs) receive tailored incentives to establish power plants within their zones, further promoting renewable energy adoption. TEIAS, which is the country’s national electric transmission company, is in charge of 1.5 million kilometers of medium to high voltage electric transmission lines. TEIAS regularly conducts tenders for new sub-stations, transmission lines, and maintenance services.
