Upcoming Trade Shows in Turkey for Automobile - Automotive Industry

Turkey’s automotive industry wasn’t born until the 1960s in the era of rapid industrialization and since then it has blossomed into a robust and significant player in the global automotive value chain. With its extensive production capacity and formidable engineering and design capabilities, the Turkish automotive sector has firmly established itself on the world stage. In 2021, the industry attracted investments totaling 662 million U.S. dollars with a focus on new model development projects. While the COVID-19 pandemic temporarily impacted manufacturing, causing a minor dip in the last two years, Turkey still produced nearly 1.3 million motor vehicles in 2021. This production strength stresses the industry's resilience and adaptability. Turkey’s popularity in automotive exports has been on an upward trajectory, significantly driven by the remarkable surge in sales to the Netherlands and the United States in 2019, experiencing growth rates of 131% and 55%, respectively. These impressive numbers attest to the industry's capacity to meet the demands of global markets and provide quality vehicles. A standout moment in the Turkish automotive landscape is the emergence of Togg, a homegrown manufacturer of electric luxury cars. Togg unveiled its vision in 2019 during a public event in Gebze, showcasing prototypes of the compact sedan, T10S and the compact SUV, T10X, both designed by Murat Günak and the renowned design firm Pininfarina. Notably, Togg's journey reached a significant milestone with the inauguration of its Gemlik factory on Turkish Republic Day, October 29, 2022. The construction of this facility, spanning over 1.2 million square meters, was completed in just over two years. During the inauguration, Togg passionately conveyed its vision, mission and production goals along with its dedication to users. The highlight of the day was the unveiling of the first Togg vehicle, an eye-catching Anadolu red T10X, symbolizing the brand's commitment to innovation and progress.
