Lyon's equine industry continues to thrive and grows bigger every year when Equita Lyon rolls into the city. The event commands the attention of all working within the horses industry as one of the definitive hubs for equestrian sports, innovation, and the promotion of animal welfare. We see tradition intertwine with modern advancements in the most thrilling of ways, highlighting the talent of equestrians and hyping up new startups. Since the Equita Riders team was formed in 2012, the Equita Lyon has made it its mission to nurture promising local riders and help them gain prominence on national and international stages. The team, which now includes ten regional riders, continues to grow - a clear sign that the Rhône-Alpes region has incredible potential to dominate the equestrian sports world. One success story for the ages is Olivier Perreau, who secured a bronze medal at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. But equestrian sports are only one aspect of the horses industry in Lyon. The equine sector opens its arms to entrepreneurs with a clear vision for a better future. Since 2015, Equita Lyon has hosted the Start-up Village, in collaboration with the Hippolia competitiveness cluster. This initiative has become a springboard for young companies developing cutting-edge products and services for the equine industry. The village, located at the entrance of the exhibition, showcases ten promising startups each year. Both the public and industry professionals participate in voting for the Start-up of the Year, with the winner receiving a free exhibition stand for the following edition. Equita Lyon has long prioritized animal welfare as a key component of its event. In 2007, in collaboration with Merial (now Boehringer Ingelheim), the Equine Hub of the Veterinary Campus in Lyon (VetAgro Sup), and the Champ du Perier Equine Clinic, the event launched the Health Area.
