If we’re to talk about the education and training industry in Stuttgart, we have to talk about didacta – the definitive destination for education at every stage of education from elementary all the way to higher and further education. The current digital revolution is redrawing the entire landscape of the education sector and didacta is where recent advancements in education and training are seen for the first time in front of a wide audience. The 2024 event had its most productive edition to date with a star-studded program, fully-booked day care seminars, and even significant political presence. As the industry sponsor, the Didacta Verband e.V. orchestrated an intense supporting program that spanned three halls, five forums, and included over 1,600 seminars, discussion rounds, and special events. These sessions provided a platform for further education and open debate, while exhibiting companies hosted workshops, panels, and lectures on contemporary issues at their stands and in the Speakers' Area. didacta 2024 zeroed in on the most acute pain points facing education at all levels starting with the design of new learning spaces and ending with strategies to address the ongoing shortage of skilled workers. Digitalization remained a central focus, particularly concerning the federal government’s digital pact 2.0. Discussions explored how AI-based applications could alleviate the burden on skilled workers and promote personalized learning, while also addressing the financial and administrative challenges of implementing such technologies. Inclusion was another major theme, with innovative approaches showcased for integrating children and youths with diverse needs into everyday educational life. These discussions emphasized the need for flexible and accessible education systems that cater to all learners. Current global issues, such as the conflict in the Middle East and the latest PISA survey results, were also addressed, highlighting the summit’s relevance to contemporary educational challenges.
