Upcoming Trade Shows in Switzerland for Electric & Electronics
SINDEX 2025, Bern, Switzerland
2 - 4 Sep 2025
Switzerland has taken action in addressing one of the biggest crises hitting the electronics industry – electronic waste. Immark AG, a subsidiary of the Thommen Group, is at the forefront of electronic waste recycling and its current efforts have raised the recycling rate to 95%. Now, with the introduction of a groundbreaking new sorting plant, Immark is on track to revolutionize the industry and set new standards for electronic waste recycling in Switzerland and beyond. Its assured success will surely raise the standing of Switzerland’s electric and electronics industry on the global stage.
Partnering with STADLER, a leader in recycling plant engineering, Immark has unveiled the largest electronic waste processing facility in Switzerland. Located in Regensdorf, the new plant is designed to handle high volumes of electronic waste efficiently and effectively. The cornerstone of the new facility is the STADLER STT5000 ballistic separator, a cutting-edge technology that pre-sorts electronic waste into three distinct fractions: fines, flat plastics and cables, and cube-shaped materials such as electronic motors. This groundbreaking design not only enhances the plant’s processing capacity, with a throughput of up to 12 tons per hour, but also improves the purity of the output, which maximizes the recovery of valuable materials such as printed circuit boards.
The plant's modular design allows for flexible adaptation throughout the recycling process, which improves the quality of the final output. From manual sorting to advanced screening and sorting technologies for separating recyclable materials, every aspect of the recycling process is optimized for efficiency. One of the key features of the new facility is its focus on resource recovery and material reuse. By employing magnetic technology, eddy current separation, and sensor sorting technology, Immark can extract valuable materials such as iron, non-ferrous metals, and plastics with unparalleled precision and efficiency.
