Investment in R&D surpasses €17 billion, fueling a constant stream of groundbreaking advancements. Over 800,000 people in Germany alone, with an additional 700,000 employed abroad, contribute to the industry's success.
Germany boasts a dense network of research institutions, both public and private. These centers act as think tanks, continuously exploring new solutions across various fields, from industrial automation to automotive electronics. Their tireless efforts ensure that German-made electronic components are in high demand worldwide. A shining star within the German electronics industry is the sub-sector of optical and photonics technologies. This rapidly growing field is at the forefront of advancements like augmented reality, self-driving vehicles, and digital healthcare.
