Upcoming Trade Shows Karlsruhe, Germany for Automobile - Automotive Industry
IT-TRANS 2026, Karlsruhe, Germany
3 - 5 Mar 2026
Baden-Württemberg contributes significantly to the rapid development of pioneering automotive technologies for Germany’s expansive automotive empire, and Karlsruhe is an important cog in the wheel of innovation. The state capitalizes on the high concentration of automotive Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and Tier 1 companies through e-mobil Baden-Württemberg. Founded in 2010, e-mobil BW is at the forefront of promoting electromobility with a special focus on nurturing small and medium-sized enterprises. It champions energy policy transformations on a regional level and propels the industrialization and market integration of future-oriented mobility solutions.
One of its flagship projects is the SmartLoad project, spearheaded by AVL Deutschland GmbH. In an era where the cars of tomorrow are set to be electric and autonomous, the key is to mitigate potential failures. While redundant components are common practice in the aerospace sector, SmartLoad ventures into uncharted territory. The project aims to detect and respond promptly to damage or failure in critical automotive equipment, advocating for novel approaches to fault prevention and prediction.
Albert Albers, from the Institute of Product Engineering at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) envisions groundbreaking methods to minimize risks. Researchers have access to seven test stations within the XiL network, strategically distributed across Karlsruhe, Stuttgart and Wangen. The insights gained from these test stations will pave the way for the development of cutting-edge electronic components. With its roots dating back to 2008, the cluster is a driving force in realizing the vision of robust, low-emission and market-oriented mobility. It places emphasis on key areas such as market dynamics, cost-effectiveness, comfort and interconnected mobility.
Benefiting from the unique regional strengths within the corridor spanning Karlsruhe, Mannheim, Stuttgart and Ulm, the cluster knits together industry giants, medium-sized enterprises, and startups in fields encompassing vehicle manufacturing, energy engineering, information technology, and production engineering.
