PLMA’s International World of Private Label Trade Show is where the entire franchising industry in Amsterdam meet in person to benefit from international contacts, innovative products and great sales leads. The most recent edition drew over 17,000 visitors from more than 125 countries, who evaluated food and non-food products from nearly 3,000 exhibitors from 73 countries. Retailers, buyers, and category managers gained a wealth of insider knowledge and opportunities to put in direct orders. Across 43,500 m2 of exhibition space, the trade show unveiled some truly show-stopping products.
Product developers pushed boundaries with beverages like functional teas enriched with zinc for immune support and specialty teas tailored for men’s health needs. Notably, unconventional ingredients such as sea water and vinegar were transformed into refreshing drinks. A significant presence of Halal and Kosher products was evident, including innovative items like a Ramadan Calendar designed for fasting periods. These products not only cater to specific dietary requirements but also reflect a growing consumer demand for diversity and inclusivity in retail offerings. Beyond edibles, non-food segments showcased functional innovations such as probiotic cleaning cloths and medical diapers equipped for urine sampling in infants. Additionally, advancements like AI-enabled air fryers and aroma therapy products for pets demonstrated the integration of cutting-edge technology into everyday consumer goods. The exhibition also highlighted innovations in packaging, including the incorporation of braille on tampon packaging for enhanced accessibility.
Another great asset of the trade show that greatly benefited the franchising industry in Amsterdam was the stacked program. Every had some insightful workshops or seminars that touched upon packaging design evolution in the Gen Z era, and the future of retailing in Europe. Noteworthy presentations from industry leaders like Picnic and Coop Italia offered profound insights into the evolving landscape of private label strategies and consumer engagement.
