Upcoming Trade Shows in UAE for Industrial Engineering

The UAE has made some substantial, strategic innovations in promoting growth and innovations in the industrial engineering industry. You see these efforts in initiatives undertaken by Emirates Global Aluminium (EGA), UAE’s largest industrial company outside the oil and gas sector. EGA’s Engineer the Future programme, which aims to inspire the next generation of engineers and technologists, has reached over 7,300 students from 29 schools during the 2023-2024 academic year. The Engineer the Future programme is designed to introduce school students in the UAE to the practical applications of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) in various industries. Delivered in partnership with Emirates Schools Establishment, the programme targets students from grades nine to twelve, providing them with interactive learning opportunities and workshops that spark interest in STEM careers. A significant component of the programme is the EGA Aluminium Design and Innovation Challenge. This practical competition encourages over 160 student teams to creatively apply their STEM knowledge to address real-world challenges in sustainable mobility, architecture, product design, and green solutions using aluminium. This hands-on experience is crucial in equipping students with the skills and confidence needed to pursue careers in STEM fields and contribute to the growth of the industrial engineering industry in the UAE. The Engineer the Future programme aligns with the UAE's ambitious Operation 300 Billion industrial growth strategy. The UAE is one of the few countries globally where more women than men graduate with degrees in STEM fields. Reflecting this trend, over 55% of the students who participated in the Engineer the Future programme last year were females. This highlights the UAE’s progressive stance on gender equality in education and its commitment to empowering women in traditionally male-dominated fields. EGA's influence extends beyond education. As a major employer of STEM professionals, EGA employs around 1,500 individuals in these fields, including over 500 UAE nationals.
