About The Venue

Amsterdam RAI Exhibition and Convention Centre or Amsterdam RAI for short is the biggest and most recognized exhibition centre in the entirety of the Netherlands. The centre opened its doors in 1961 in the city’s Zuidas business district and consists of multiple conference and exhibition halls that spread over a territory of 112,200 m² (1,208,000 sq. ft.). Amsterdam RAI has undergone two renovations, once in 2007, which concluded with the expansion to RAI Elicium in 2009, and one as recent as 2018. Overall, there are 22 conference rooms and 11 multi-functional halls on the premises. There are two theatres – the Europahal RAI, which has the capacity to seat around 12,900 people, and the much smaller RAI Theatre with a theatre seating of 1750 people.

Amsterdam RAI has good connections to public transport with a train station and metro stops all nearby, as well as underground parking with 4000 parking spaces. This alongside the very modern infrastructure has contributed to the sensational event calendar. Each year, Amsterdam RAI sees about 50 international conferences and 70 trade shows. The most notable exhibitions and trade fairs you need to know about are Art Amsterdam, LXRY Masters, AutoRAI, HISWA, Horecava, Horti Fair, International Broadcasting Convention and Jumping Amsterdam. Historically, the RAI was also host to Eurovision and the Grand Gala du Disque in 1969. But what does this mean in numbers? On average, there are 2 million visitors that visit Amsterdam RAI and in 2001, the centre counted its 75-millionth visitor.
