Upcoming Trade Shows Hamburg, Germany for Renewable Energies

As Germany steadily progresses towards its renewable energy targets, Hamburg has made a strong name for itself in the renewable energies industry. With the proportion of renewable energy in the national electricity mix rising from a mere 6% in 2000 to approximately 49% in 2022, Germany has set an even higher goal: to achieve at least 80% renewable energy consumption by 2030. In this context, Hamburg has gone full force to meet this goal and a key player in this transformation is the industry network Renewable Energy Hamburg. Since its inception in 2010, REH has been a central platform for stakeholders in the renewable energy sector. REH facilitates networking and disseminates expertise across its core sectors, which include offshore and onshore wind energy, solar energy, renewable heat, sector coupling, and energy storage. The network’s latest focus is the up-and-coming field of the green hydrogen economy. Since 2021, in collaboration with public stakeholders like the Hamburg Ministry of Economics and Innovation and Hamburg Invest, REH has created a robust hydrogen network within the Metropolitan Region of Hamburg. The organization, steered by Managing Director Jan Rispens, coordinates activities and represents the cluster externally, adhering to strategic guidelines. Currently, Renewable Energy Hamburg encompasses around 240 companies in the metropolitan area, spanning sectors such as production, project development, research, finance, and legal consultancy. To keep its members and the broader community informed, Renewable Energy Hamburg leverages a variety of information channels, including newsletters, blogs, and social media. These channels provide updates on both local and international developments in the renewable energy sector, ensuring that stakeholders stay abreast of the latest trends and innovations.
