France has heavily invested into the development of its aviation, airport technology and aerospace sectors in order to assume a leadership position on the global scene. These efforts have given birth to the Aerospace Valley positioned in the scenic regions of Occitanie and Nouvelle-Aquitaine in the southwest of France. This French cluster brims with activity generated by over 500 aerospace engineering companies and research centers; Bordeaux and Toulouse distinguishing themselves as the main hotspots for manufacturing. Aerospace Valley is home to industry giants like Airbus, Air France Industries and Dassault Aviation, which collectively have generated around 120,000 jobs in aviation and space flight. Aerospace Valley's impact extends beyond employment. It hosts a cadre of over 8500 researchers who pursue the next generation of aerospace technology and knowledge. These researchers are distributed across affiliated companies and institutions, working to shape the future of aerospace. One of the cluster's ambitious goals is to create an impressive 40,000 to 45,000 new jobs by 2026 – a goal that’s quite achievable given the rapid growth of Aerospace Valley since its establishment in 2005. At the heart of Aerospace Valley, in Toulouse, is its headquarters, where the big decision makers steer the course for this cluster. Jean-Marc Thomas, who also holds the position of Vice Chair at Airbus France, serves as the Chair of Aerospace Valley. Aerospace Valley's influence spreads to key locations across the cluster's territory. These locations house vital facilities such as an innovative aerospace research laboratory in Bordeaux, a research center near Turbomeca in Bordes dedicated to aerospace fuel research, and an experimental center in Tarbes focused on developing more efficient methods for dismantling civil and military aircraft.
