Upcoming Trade Shows Nurnberg, Germany for Refrigeration

Nuremberg continues to be at the forefront of the HVACR and refrigeration industry thanks to the presence of Chillventa, the trade fair known as the premier international gathering for refrigeration, air conditioning, ventilation, and heat pump technologies. The last edition in 2024 examined sustainability, energy efficiency, and the transition to natural refrigerants. Chillventa remains the go-to event for professionals looking to explore new technologies and industry trends. The 2024 edition attracted over 33,000 visitors, with more than 77% of attendees holding decision-making roles within their respective companies. The event’s focus revolved around energy-efficient systems, strategies for utilizing and preventing waste heat, and developments in low-global warming potential (GWP) refrigerants. A major trend at this year’s fair is the circular economy’s impact on refrigeration, going beyond merely recycling treated refrigerants. Companies are increasingly prioritizing sustainable materials, heat recovery systems, and improved efficiency metrics to minimize environmental impact. What excited Nuremberg’s refrigeration industry at the 2024 edition was the paticipation of Copeland, which made its debut as an independent company after splitting from Emerson and receiving investment from Blackstone. The company’s booth highlighted HVACR technologies and controls designed to support the electrification of heating, demand response, and renewable energy integration. Copeland aligns itself with three global megatrends: transitioning to electrified heating, adopting natural and low-GWP refrigerants, and enhancing the cold chain to safeguard perishable goods sustainably. The company's portfolio includes innovative solutions optimized for CO2 (R-744) and propane (R-290), as well as low-GWP A2L alternatives. A significant driver of innovation in the industry is the growing urgency to decarbonize heating and cooling systems. The latest report from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) highlights that global temperatures have already risen by 1.1°C above pre-industrial levels, with the critical 1.5°C threshold expected to be reached as early as 2035. Chillventa 2024 explored all current advancements with real market potential.
