Upcoming Trade Shows Nurnberg, Germany for Packing & Packaging

The European packing and packaging industry regularly meets in Nuremberg whenever it’s time to host FACHPAC, one of the premier trade fairs for packaging, technology, and processes. The 2024 theme, “Transition in Packaging,” acknowledged the ongoing transformation within the industry at large, driven by regulatory shifts, sustainability goals, and technological advancements. Across 11 exhibition halls, attendees from both consumer and industrial goods sectors explored the latest trends. FACHPACK has long positioned itself as a source of inspiration for the packaging industry. We see this in its high-caliber supporting program, featuring three major forums—PACKBOX, INNOVATIONBOX, and SOLPACK 5.0. Each forum is designed to address critical industry topics such as compliance with the new Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR), the circular economy, automation and artificial intelligence (AI), and alternative packaging solutions. PACKBOX was moderated by industry veterans including Matthias Mahr (LebensmittelPraxis), Dr. Johannes Bergmair (World Packaging Organisation), and Oliver Berndt (German Packaging Institute). The INNOVATIONBOX Forum featured concise presentations by registered exhibitors unveiling their latest product and process developments. Meanwhile, the SOLPACK 5.0 Forum focused on sustainable packaging solutions. But perhaps most valuable for the players in Nuremberg’s packing and packaging industry was the high-level networking. In line with its motto, “We create the future,” FACHPACK 2024 provided a vital networking platform for industry professionals. One of the new additions that year was Women4Packaging, an exclusive networking event aimed at empowering women in the packaging industry. The event featured keynote speaker Vera Strauch, founder of the Female Leadership Academy, who shared insights on feminist leadership and industry dynamics. Additionally, the German Packaging Award was presented on the first day of the fair. The award, organized by the German Packaging Institute , received nearly 250 submissions from 13 countries. A special Young Talent Award was also given, recognizing innovative packaging concepts developed by students and trainees.
