The company successfully completed the first lot-acceptance test of its Product Improvement (PI) SMArt 155 munition, showcasing an increased footprint scan that significantly expands the target search area. The SMArt 155 system, a collaborative effort with ATK, serves as an advanced ""fire and forget"" smart projectile for 155mm artillery systems. This cutting-edge munition employs millimeter wave radar, radiometer and infrared sensors to effectively neutralize artillery and armored targets in diverse weather and environmental conditions. With more than 3000 SMArt projectiles already delivered to the German artillery forces and a contract for the production of 9,000 projectiles, GIWS is a driving force in precision-guided munition systems. The success of the PI SMArt 155 munition reasserts Nuremberg’s position as a major innovator in defense technology.
