Upcoming Trade Shows in Italy for Lighting

Italy’s lighting industry is on a growth trajectory, with projections indicating that sales will rise to €3.88 billion by 2028, up from €3.7 billion in 2023. This steady increase reflects a modest annual growth rate of 0.8%, continuing the industry’s expansion at an average annual rate of 1.9% since 2013. Although Italy held the third position in global lighting sales rankings in 2023, it faces strong competition from the Netherlands, which surpassed it with €3.7 billion in sales. On the export front, Italian lighting is forecasted to reach nearly $935 million by 2028, rising from approximately $842 million in 2023. This growth translates to an average annual growth rate of 1.6%. Italian lighting exports have demonstrated consistent upward movement since 1999, expanding at a rate of 2.2% annually. This trend highlights Italy’s strong position in the global market. Conversely, imports of Italian lighting are expected to increase significantly, reaching around $605 million by 2028, up from about $517 million in 2023. This represents an average annual growth rate of 2.5%, with demand for imported lighting in Italy growing by 3.2% annually since 1999. The rising import figures underscore Italy's integration into the global lighting supply chain and its role as a major consumer of international lighting products. With 2,982 lighting companies operating in Italy, the industry is both expansive and competitive. Milan leads with an 8% market share, followed by Rome and Napoli, which collectively represent 19% of the Italian lighting market. This concentration of companies in major cities illustrates the industry's regional dynamics and the importance of these urban centers in driving innovation and growth. As the market expands, driven by both domestic innovation and international competition, Italy's reputation for high-quality lighting remains a significant asset. The rising demand for both exports and imports positions Italy as a key player in the global lighting sector.
